Atmosphere Pico
A pocket-sized, battery-free iteration of the Atmosphere CO₂ monitor — private project, 2026
Atmosphere Pico is the next iteration of Atmosphere, the DIY CO₂ measurement device from 2025. To reach the smallest possible form factor, the two 18650 Li-Ion batteries were stripped out completely, making the device small enough to be carried around anywhere. Instead, it is powered directly over its USB-C port, from a laptop, a charger or a power bank.
The electronics are reduced to a single board that slides into the 3D-printed housing and is closed off by a small end cap. Instead of the three air bubbles of the original, the display shows a face that changes its expression as the air quality in the room gets worse.
